As I was searching the blogs yesterday for my next read, I happened upon a quote from Bigger Than The Sky by Harper Bentley. I had never read one of her books, but the quote was enticing. When I clicked the purchase link, it showed that I had bought the book nearly 6 months ago. I decided to check it out.My plan was to read the first couple of chapters and get a "feel" for the book. To my surprise, I was hooked within those first couple of chapters.
This second-chance love story is one of my favorites of the year. It has the alpha-male ex-Navy Seal, which means he is also bossy, possessive, and protective, and as an added bonus, he also sings and plays guitar with a small-town band. The girl is smart, sassy, and very funny.
It has that small town vibe, where everyone knows each other and went to high school together. They hang out at the local diner, and frequently gather at the local bar to socialize.
The couple tackle the local town drama together, even before they are officially together. It was written in first person POV of the female character, and could have only been made better if it had alternating POVs. Five stars does not seem like enough for me and my love for this book. I'll definitely be looking to read more of her books.

"And after five years, I think I've finally figured it out. Everyone needs a home. It's not just a place where you put pieces of furniture that you like. It's not a place that you retreat to once you're back from work. Home is where you feel safe, where you're the most comfortable. And I begin crying because that's what being in Kade's arms again feels like." - Amemlia
"I love you," I whisper and fall asleep......my brain finally silent." Amelia to Kade.

The book starts with Amelia Hale-Chapman leaving the love of her life at the altar. Fast forward a few years later and Amelia is back in town for a few weeks. She plans on leaving as soon as she finishes fixing her grandparents garage.
The last thing Amelia thought was to find her ex-fiancée back in their hometown for good.
Kade Kelly is an ex Navy Seal. Amelia leaving him all those years ago, opened his eyes to what he did wrong. This time around he won't let her run away again. He's determined to show her that together they just make sense and that their love is bigger than the sky....
I love second chance romances. Amelia loved Kade but I understand why she left him. I just think that she could have told him how she really felt before the wedding instead of hurting him that way. Kade was too nice about this, I thought.
As a character, Amelia was interesting. She didn't play any games and was straight forward with Kade this time around.
Kade was a sexy alpha. He was a man of few words but the words that came out from his mouth were heartfelt.
This is another series by Harper that I can't wait to continue reading. With so many great secondary characters like Brody, Casey, London and Lacey, she has plenty of material to make Serenity Point a place to revisit.

Kade is Navy Seal… a freaking NAVY SEAL people!!! He is hot, sexy, amazing, caring, loving, steamy, and OMG, I want him! He is a man who’s heart was broken by the love of his life and well he did what any other man would do…He moved through women like he was mowing their damn lawn. (At this point I became a little jealous but I will eventually look past that part, eventually...)
Now that you know about the hottie within in this book’s pages here is the woman who broke his heart, Amelia. I have a love/hate relationship with her. Amelia loved Kade with everything she had and the girl stood by his hot Navy Seal ass too. But right when she was about to spend her forever with him she bales as in she literally runs from the altar. Ugh! I know it frustrated me too. Now you can understand why we have a love/hate relationship. How can you run from someone so amazingly hot who loves you just as much as you love him? How?! Well apparently she had her reasons and now Amelia is this strong, beautiful woman that has a lot to give to a man. Not long after she left the love of her life though she lost her grandparents. And of course that meant going back to the one place she wanted to get away from. After her world is shattered with the new of her grandparents, she has no other choice but to return to Serenity Point and deal with their affairs.
But can Amelia go back and risk running into Kade? Or is he even home? Is he married? I know that answer to those questions but I will not share. You will need to read the book yourself to find out! Sorry
Bigger Than the Sky is so good and so damn HOT! I know, I know I say that a lot but it’s absolutely true. I enjoyed reading this story even with the twist in there that I would have never guessed would even be in there. I was 50% into the book last night when I had to sit down next to Lee and tell him all about Kade. Poor guy, he always has to hear me talk about my book boyfriends. Good thing he can handle me and all of them...lol. Anyways, I told him, “Baby I love you but if I call you Kade, please don’t worry about it cause I am still here and I love you.” And he said… well let’s just not worry about that part.
Harper Bentley you are truly turning me into a huge book whore and I love it! Now as you all know I am a huge fan of Harper Bentley. She made me fall madly in love with Chase. Then I cheated on him with Jagger for a while, and then came Oz. And she did warn me about Kade but all the while I was thinking yeah he may turn my head but I am loyal to Jag. Boy was I dead wrong! Kade you can come invade my mind anytime.
